Can't we all just get along? Yes!

The Utah Medical Association (UMA) believes that osteopathic and allopathic physicians are equivalently trained and should be treated equally.  No physician or student should be discriminated against in any way simply based on being an osteopathic or allopathic physician or student.  This includes discrimination by health or education systems, physician practices, clinics, or any other employer. 

• RESOLVED 1, that UMA and its members denounce all forms of racism; and be it further,
• RESOLVED 2, that UMA and its members increase their awareness of racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare and work toward eliminating these; and be it further, 
• RESOLVED 3, that UMA and its members commit to understanding their own biases and to adopt the principles of inclusion, non-discrimination, consistency, and equitable access to healthcare services for all members of our communities; and be it further,
• RESOLVED 4, That the UMA offer educational opportunities to encourage better understanding and awareness of racial inequalities and healthcare disparities among its members and in the UMA.
