Governance

Proper governance is a fundamental part of UMA’s mission to represent Utah Physicians. We value transparent reporting, which we accomplish with core practices, policies, and commitments.<

The UMA-elected Board of Directors sets the tone and pace and serves as a strong advocate for policy and values. The Board oversees UMA’s overall strategy. Our Board is comprised of diverse physician leaders who have been elected through the UMA House of Delegates (HOD).  The HOD consists of physician representatives from around the state from specialties, counties, large and small groups, independent and employed physicians in training. The Board also sets policy annually and in-between HOD meetings.

Diversity and Inclusion

Within senior management, governance for diversity and inclusion resides with our CEO.

Key Demographics of our 2023 Leadership

Looking Ahead

We are proud of the work we do for advancing healthcare excellence and quality patient care and cultivating physician leaders for all levels of organized medicine. The past decade has seen a greater need and emphasis on collective representation and advocacy for Utah’s physicians, residents, medical students, and to improve the health of the public and the overall healthcare system and to be the voice of the House of Medicine.

We are grateful for the contributions to the UMA boards, committees, sections, societies, and communities, and we look forward to sharing our progress. Please email UMA for more information or to send your comments.
